Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

npm version License: MIT

Official command-line interface (CLI) for FlakeCheck — the automated CI test reliability platform that eliminates false alarms, isolates flaky tests, and protects developer release velocity.

🚀 Quick Start

1. Installation

Install the CLI globally with npm:

npm install -g @onurdrsn/flakecheck

Or run directly with npx:

npx @onurdrsn/flakecheck --help

🛠️ Usage & Commands

Initialize Repository Configuration

Connect your project to the FlakeCheck Gateway. Create .flakecheckrc.json in your project root:

flakecheck init \
  --gateway https://flakecheck.domain \
  --repo owner/repo-name \
  --token <YOUR_PROJECT_TOKEN>

Note: Generate your repository project token from the FlakeCheck Web Dashboard under Account Settings.

Ingest Test Reports

Stream test execution output directly to FlakeCheck. Automatically detects current Git commit and branch:

# JUnit XML (Jest, Vitest, Pytest, Go, Maven, Gradle)
flakecheck ingest ./test-results/*.xml --format junit

# Jest / Vitest (JSON output)
flakecheck ingest ./jest-results.json --format jest

# Playwright Test
flakecheck ingest ./playwright-report.json --format playwright

# Go Test JSON
flakecheck ingest ./go-test.json --format go

You can also explicitly pass git metadata if running in non-standard environments:

flakecheck ingest ./results.xml --format junit --commit <GIT_SHA> --branch <BRANCH_NAME>

Analyze Repository Window

Run deterministic classification across recent test runs:

# Pretty terminal output with classification breakdown
flakecheck analyze

# Inspect a larger window
flakecheck analyze --window 50

# Output raw JSON for pipeline automation
flakecheck analyze --json

# Fail CI pipeline (exit 2) if flakes are detected
flakecheck analyze --fail-on-flake

Generate CI & Pull Request Reports

Generate formatted Markdown reports with status badges and metrics (automatically writes to $GITHUB_STEP_SUMMARY in GitHub Actions):

flakecheck report --dashboard https://flakecheck.domain/dashboard

Diagnostic Health Check

Verify local configuration, gateway reachability, and backend microservice health:

flakecheck doctor

Manage Flakes & Quarantine

Inspect active flaky tests:

# Table output
flakecheck flakes

# JSON output
flakecheck flakes --format json

# Quarantine a problematic test
flakecheck quarantine <testId> --action add --reason "Under investigation"

# Graduate a fixed test from quarantine
flakecheck quarantine <testId> --action remove

⚙️ Configuration File (.flakecheckrc.json)

The flakecheck init command creates a local .flakecheckrc.json file in your repository:

{
  "gatewayUrl": "https://flakecheck.domain",
  "repo": "owner/repository",
  "token": "fc_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
}
