Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Protocol-neutral capability integration compilers and local MCP adapters for OpenGeni.

@opengeni/capabilities

Protocol-neutral integration compilation for OpenGeni. Immutable OpenAPI and GraphQL revisions are compiled into local MCPServer implementations so they use the existing lazy tool router, session policy, approval, auth-needed, Toolspace, child-session, and scheduled-task paths.

The package owns protocol parsing and invocation only. Connection persistence, credential encryption, tenant authority, operation receipts, and catalog lifecycle stay in OpenGeni's core/database layers.

Security defaults:

  • credentials are resolved for one exact destination and verified before use;
  • header, query, and cookie placements are bounded and validated atomically;
  • curated Google/Microsoft Integration Definition OAuth stays in the normal encrypted Connection spine;
  • redirects are never followed on credential-bearing requests;
  • response bodies, schemas, operation counts, and deadlines are bounded;
  • mutating operations are marked approval-required by default;
  • a safe read/query may refresh and retry exactly once on 401, while a mutation is never replayed after an ambiguous provider authorization result; and
  • errors contain structural recovery facts, never provider bodies or secrets.

Local MCP bridge kit

src/mcp-bridge.ts defines the shared contract for provider APIs exposed as in-process MCP servers. A bridge declares a secret-free catalog identity, actual authority class, reviewed tool-surface class, 1-32 exact HTTPS destinations, and the safe-read-only replay rule. Adapter matching is generic and fails closed on ambiguity. The descriptor is not authorization: each adapter still revalidates its Connection or host-owned authority before every provider request.

The Gmail REST adapter is the static reviewed example. OpenAPI and GraphQL Integration Definitions keep their existing local MCP adapters without claiming this descriptor. Google Drive remains one functional Integration row with its existing Connection and facet authority. See docs/design/first-party-mcp-bridges.md.
