Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@openoddsapi/mcp-server

Live sports odds as callable tools for Claude, Cursor, VS Code and any other MCP client. No SDK, no client code — the agent discovers the endpoints itself.

Covers UFC, boxing, tennis, NFL and golf across bookmakers and prediction markets (Kalshi, Polymarket, SX Bet), with per-bookmaker freshness.

Install

Get a key at openoddsapi.com — the free plan includes the MCP server.

Claude Code

claude mcp add openoddsapi -e OPENODDSAPI_KEY=$OPENODDSAPI_KEY -- npx -y @openoddsapi/mcp-server

Cursor / Claude Desktop / VS Code — add to your MCP config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "openoddsapi": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@openoddsapi/mcp-server"],
      "env": { "OPENODDSAPI_KEY": "oo_live_..." }
    }
  }
}

Tools

| Tool | What it does | |---|---| | list_sports | Sports covered, with live book and event counts | | get_odds | Every book's price for a sport, matched across sources | | compare_books | Best price per outcome, plus fair no-vig probabilities | | find_arbitrage | Guaranteed-profit opportunities, after fees, with stake ceilings | | get_events | Schedule without prices | | get_scores | Live and final results | | get_status | Plan, quota and remaining requests |

Try it

What are the current moneyline odds for the next UFC card, and which book has the best price on each fighter?

Are there any arbitrage opportunities in tennis right now? Only show ones that survive fees with at least $500 of headroom.

Which bookmakers are stale right now, and how far behind are they?

Notes that matter

  • Prices are pre-fee. Each source carries a fee model; find_arbitrage applies it and reports margin_after_fees.
  • Freshness is explicit. Every source has last_update and a stale flag. A stale price shown as live is the worst failure mode in this category.
  • Arbitrage has a ceiling. max_stake comes from the binding leg's limit or depth. A 2% edge capped at $40 is not a trade.

Environment
