Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@openport-mcp/proxy

OpenPort's local bridge: aggregate multiple MCP servers (stdio / SSE / StreamableHTTP) behind a single SSE, WebSocket, or StreamableHTTP endpoint with per-server process isolation, auto-restart with exponential backoff, and health / latency endpoints.

The OpenPort Chrome extension connects to this proxy, so one local proxy serves all of your MCP servers to the chat sites.

Quick start

npx @openport-mcp/proxy                     # uses ./config.json if present

With no --config, the proxy resolves a default config from the current directory: config.jsonproxy.config.jsonmcp.jsonproxy.config.example.json (Vite/npm convention).

Endpoints

Tools

All servers' tools are aggregated and prefixed with their server name: <serverName>.<toolName>. tools/call with tools/call splits the name back.

Auto-restart

Each stdio server runs as its own child process. On disconnect the proxy restarts it with exponential backoff:

  • maxAttempts: 0 = unlimited retries (default).
  • restartCount resets to 0 on a successful reconnect.

Dashboard

Open http://localhost:<port>/ in a browser for a live view of server status, tool counts, latency, restart counts, and errors. No extra build step — it is a single static HTML file served by the proxy.
