Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Module catalog of Hora Kit ecosystem

@openreachtech/hora-ecosystem

A module catalog of Open Reach Tech's ecosystem packages (renchan-* / furo-* / mentsu-*), maintained so that Hora — Open Reach Tech's tool for fully-automated, AI-driven application generation — can learn how to use them.

Concept

This package doesn't ship runnable application code. It ships catalog data: a machine-readable list of which ecosystem packages are currently tracked, plus a per-package specification of each package's classes and how to use them, extracted from that package's own README and JSDoc/type declarations.

The catalog content isn't written for human readability — it only needs to be precise enough for Hora (an AI) to understand a package's public surface and use it correctly.

Installation

Requires Node.js 20.x (the version the CI builds against).

npm install @openreachtech/hora-ecosystem

It is an ES module ("type": "module"); import it with ESM import syntax.

Usage

config/lookup.js

The whitelist of tracked packages, as a plain object mapping each package name (without the @openreachtech/ scope) to whether it's currently catalogued:

import TARGET_PACKAGES from '@openreachtech/hora-ecosystem/config/lookup.js'

Object.entries(TARGET_PACKAGES)
  .filter(([, isCatalogued]) => isCatalogued)
  .map(([packageName]) => packageName)
// -> ['mentsu-rootpath', 'renchan-env', ...]

A package present with value false is known to exist but intentionally excluded from the catalog (e.g. deprecated, or not yet decided on); a package absent from this object entirely was never a candidate.

lib/docs/<package-name>/

For every package name that's true in config/lookup.js, this directory holds:

  • README.md — a verbatim copy of that package's own README, when one exists.
  • API.md — a summary of the package's exported classes/functions and their public members, methods, and signatures, derived from its .d.ts or JSDoc.
import { readFile } from 'node:fs/promises'

const apiReference = await readFile(
  new URL(
    '../node_modules/@openreachtech/hora-ecosystem/lib/docs/mentsu-rootpath/API.md',
    import.meta.url
  ),
  'utf-8'
)

The catalog under config/lookup.js and lib/docs/ is maintained with Claude Code skills — see CONTRIBUTION.md for how to use them.
