Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Cryptographic Event Log core for the Originals Protocol - create, append, and verify CELs offline; browser-safe

@originals/cel

This checkout prepares CEL 2 for Originals SDK 4. SDK 3.0.0 is already published; this major-version update changes public asset identity while retaining its signed CEL 3 representation. Import the CEL 3 profile from @originals/cel/v3. It supplies strict JSON/CBOR transport, canonical event identity, authenticated controller history, and the ordered Bitcoin publication fold. See V3.md for the supported contracts and limits.

import { parseDocument, verifyHistory } from '@originals/cel/v3';
const document = parseDocument(serializedLog, 'json');
const result = verifyHistory(document);

An Original records signed claims about files and their versions. result.state.assetId is the did:cel:<SCID> identifier. Former ni: IDs remain readable. New genesis events carry this commitment in previousEvent; see SCID derivation and compatibility. deriveAssetId, normalizeAssetId, assetDigest, sameAssetIdentity and assetIdFromDigest support derivation and comparison with strict historical Originals 3 aliases. state.didCel and deriveDid, once deprecated compatibility surfaces, are removed from this SDK 4 / CEL 2 surface. Originals uses generic CCG CEL and does not implement the separate CCG did:cel DID method.

History verification authenticates controllers and signed resource descriptors. It does not fetch resource bytes, establish WebVH hosting, or prove Bitcoin acceptance or current possession. The full SDK supplies those public interfaces.

The root, /encoding, /cbor, and /testing entry points retain the preceding CEL utility API for existing integrations. They do not verify the Originals CEL 3 profile and are not a fallback for pre-3.0 Originals. New asset applications should use @originals/sdk or the explicit /v3 profile.

See asset identity and the SDK 4 / CEL 2 migration guide for public identifier changes, strict SDK 3 envelope compatibility and unchanged signed history. The /v3 subpath names the retained representation, not the npm major.

Node 20.10 or later is required. The profile is also browser-safe. Licensed MIT.
