Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Mullet CLI - tacit knowledge enrichment for Chroma teams

Readme

mllt

CLI for Mullet -- tacit knowledge enrichment for Chroma teams. Captures context from coding sessions and makes it searchable.

Install

npm install -g @philipithomas/mllt

Commands

mllt recall <prompt>

Enrich a prompt with tacit knowledge from your team's coding sessions.

mllt recall "how does the auth middleware work?"

Options: --session-id, --repo, --source

mllt ask <query>

Ask your team's knowledge base -- use this like an engineer would use Slack to ask a question to other engineers.

mllt ask "what decisions were made about the billing system?"

mllt search is an alias for mllt ask.

mllt remember <context>

Store context from the current session as tacit knowledge.

mllt remember "refactored auth to use JWT instead of sessions, needed for mobile client support"

Options: --session-id, --cwd, --repo, --branch

mllt brief

Generate a context briefing for the current session.

mllt brief --repo chroma --source claude-code

Options: --repo, --cwd, --session-id, --source

mllt mcp

Run an MCP stdio server that exposes ask as a tool for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and any other MCP client. This is the same wiki orchestrator as mllt ask, just routed over MCP so an agent can call it natively.

mllt mcp

Add to Claude Code

claude mcp add mllt -- mllt mcp

That registers an mllt MCP server scoped to the current project (use --scope user to make it global). Claude Code will then surface a single ask tool — give it a question and you get back a short, cited answer with https://wiki.trychroma.com/... links.

Add to Claude Desktop

Edit ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS) or %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json (Windows) and add an entry under mcpServers:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mllt": {
      "command": "mllt",
      "args": ["mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Restart Claude Desktop. The ask tool will appear in the tool picker.

mllt update

Update mllt to the latest version.

mllt update

Releasing

Requires a clean working tree on main.

# Bump patch version (default), or pass minor/major
./scripts/release-cli.sh patch

# Push to trigger the GitHub Actions release workflow
git push origin main --follow-tags

First publish must be done locally: cd packages/cli && npm publish --access public

Subsequent releases are automated via GitHub Actions when a mllt_v* tag is pushed. Requires NPM_TOKEN secret in the repo (npm automation token).
