Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

HOL Guard — Audit tool arguments and preflight text for destructive commands, sensitive paths, credentials, and remote exfiltration. Advisory only: reports risk, does not block execution.

Install

npm install --save-exact @pi-harness/plugin-hol-guard

Enable

Add the entry to the Cordis profile the harness starts from:

- id: hol-guard
  name: "@pi-harness/plugin-hol-guard"
  config: {}

The Pi Harness plugin marketplace installs and enables this package for you; the steps above are the manual equivalent.

Reports and cancellation

hol_guard_scan returns the full risk report as model-visible JSON: risk label, score, scanned byte count and finding explanations. The panel shows the latest explanations as well as aggregate counts. blocked is a high-risk label, not proof that an operation was prevented; this plugin remains advisory.

Inputs that cannot be serialized are reported as review with a scan_unavailable finding and zero scanned bytes, never as successfully scanned safe input. Oversized scans retain their existing incomplete-scan warning. Neither result proves the original input is safe, and reports do not contain the original scanned text.

Explicit scans check caller cancellation and plugin disposal before scheduling, before scanning and before publishing a receipt. Cancelled scans do not change audit counters or receipts. The scanner is synchronous once running, so cancellation cannot interrupt a JavaScript step already executing.
