Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Prompt Guard — Detect prompt override, secret exfiltration, remote payloads, and hidden-instruction indicators without retaining input text.

Install

npm install --save-exact @pi-harness/plugin-prompt-guard

Enable

Add the entry to the Cordis profile the harness starts from:

- id: prompt-guard
  name: "@pi-harness/plugin-prompt-guard"
  config: {}

The Pi Harness plugin marketplace installs and enables this package for you; the steps above are the manual equivalent.

Behavior and limits

This is a passive heuristic audit, not an execution gate. It listens to user and tool-result message_start events and exposes prompt_guard_scan. It neither removes content nor blocks model/tool execution. The blocked risk value denotes a high-risk report, not a blocked action. English regular expressions can produce false positives and miss obfuscated, non-English, or otherwise unmatched attacks. Quoted documentation can trigger the same rules.

On-demand scans reject inputs above 128 KiB. Oversized user messages are reported for review without a scan. Tool results scan only the first 128 KiB at a UTF-8 boundary; reports include scannedBytes, scannedChars (UTF-16 code units), truncated, and an input_truncated finding. Unscanned content never receives a safe verdict.

The panel retains only structured findings and caller-supplied source labels, not scanned input text. It highlights the highest risk in the current session and clears state on session changes. Cancelled or disposed tool calls do not publish results.

prompt_guard_scan returns the complete structured report as model-visible JSON as well as tool details: source label, risk, score, scanned byte/character counts, truncation flag and every finding's code, severity and explanation. It does not echo the scanned input. The panel displays all five detection categories plus the incomplete-scan warning when present.
