Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@pi-harness/plugin-telemetry-blocker

v0.1.31

Published

Block configured outbound telemetry destinations and report blocked attempts without collecting payload contents.

Readme

@pi-harness/plugin-telemetry-blocker

Telemetry Blocker provides a disabled local telemetry service and bounded event observations.

Install

npm install --save-exact @pi-harness/plugin-telemetry-blocker

Enable

Add the entry to the Cordis profile the harness starts from:

- id: telemetry-blocker
  name: "@pi-harness/plugin-telemetry-blocker"
  config: {}

The Pi Harness plugin marketplace installs and enables this package for you; the steps above are the manual equivalent.

Scope and reporting

Calls to piTelemetry.send are discarded locally; the service has no network transport and does not read or retain event properties. discarded counts valid service calls. observed separately counts valid pi/telemetry bus events seen by this plugin. Other listeners still receive those bus events: observation is not interception.

This plugin does not block outbound hosts, patch fetch/HTTP, restrict subprocesses, or replace a system firewall. Model requests and unrelated plugin network activity are unaffected. There are no destination configuration keys.

The snapshot and telemetry_status expose enabled: false, discarded, observed, names, namesTruncated and an explicit scope. No blocked compatibility field is retained. Counters saturate at Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER. Up to 100 distinct normalized names are kept, each at most 80 UTF-16 units without splitting a surrogate pair; the panel displays eight. Raw names over 4096 units, control characters and empty names are invalid. Event names may themselves contain sensitive text, so callers should use fixed event identifiers.

Malformed bus events that reach this listener are ignored. Cordis may reject hostile proxies before dispatching them to the plugin. Invalid direct service calls fail explicitly, and neither entry point invokes a name accessor or reads properties. Snapshots are detached; counters and names are in-memory and reset when the plugin restarts. Status calls reject unknown parameters and cancellation, and retained service handles reject calls after disposal.
