Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@pi-plugins/webfetch

Fetch web pages as Markdown or raw HTML in pi with the web_fetch tool.

Install

pi install npm:@pi-plugins/webfetch

To try it for one session without changing your settings:

pi -e npm:@pi-plugins/webfetch

Usage

Ask pi to fetch a URL:

Fetch https://example.com and summarize the page.

Pages are returned as Markdown by default. Ask for raw HTML when you need the page source.

Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description | | --------- | ---------------------- | -------- | -------------------------------------------------------- | | url | string | Yes | The HTTP(S) URL to fetch. | | format | "markdown" \| "html" | No | Output format. Defaults to "markdown". | | timeout | number | No | Timeout in seconds, from 1 to 120. Defaults to 30. |

Notes

Long pages may be shortened to fit pi's output limit. A notice indicates when this happens.
