Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Pondasi Layer 1: kit-agnostic token governance, lint enforcement, a scaffolder CLI, and an agent rules template. It is the shared foundation that every Pondasi project (a "Layer 2 consumer") builds on.

What it provides

  • Kit-imported tokens — no preset. The agent imports the primary UI kit's default token set into project.tokens.css at init and locks kit + version in kit.meta.json.
  • Lint enforcement — pure functions that flag hard rule violations: arbitrary values, raw UI-kit imports outside @/ui/* adapters, and new @keyframes.
  • Scaffolder CLI — pondasi init, pondasi add-tokens, and pondasi check to bootstrap and keep a consumer project compliant.
  • Agent rules template — a generated AGENTS.md describing the governance contract every project follows.

Install

Requires Node.js >= 20.

npm install @pondasidulu/core

Usage

As a module

import { lintSource, checkProject } from '@pondasidulu/core';

const findings = lintSource(sourceText, 'src/Page.tsx');
const report = checkProject('./my-project');

Exported values:

  • lintSource(source, filePath) — returns an array of { rule, message } findings; empty means compliant.
  • isAdapterFile(filePath) — true when the path is under a ui/ directory.
  • initProject(dir, { ui, kitVersion, tokens }) — imports the kit token set and scaffolds a consumer project. Refuses kits with no clear token set.
  • addTokens(dir, specs) — adds tokens to project.tokens.css.
  • checkProject(dir) — validates a project: kit lock, referential integrity (every used token defined), no arbitrary values.

As a CLI

# Scaffold a UI-kit adapter into a project (any kit; token set imported)
pondasi init --project <dir> --ui <kit> --tokens-file <file> [--kit-version <v>]

# Add a token
pondasi add-tokens --project <dir> --token <NAME:value>

# Upgrade the kit token set explicitly (never auto-syncs)
pondasi upgrade-kit --project <dir> --kit-version <v> --tokens-file <file>

# Check a project is compliant
pondasi check --project <dir>

Governance model

A consumer project must keep one seam: all UI-kit usage goes through @/ui/* adapter files. Pages never import a UI kit directly. Tokens are imported from the primary kit into project.tokens.css (values editable, names migrate explicitly); custom tokens live under --custom-*. New keyframes, tokens, or motion are proposed via an issue before any code.

The full contract is written into each project as AGENTS.md by pondasi init.
