Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Scaffolder CLI for specproof: drops a config-driven BDD behavior-test scaffold into your repository, wired to a single specproof.config.yaml.

Usage

Recommended: if you use an AI coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, etc.), install the specproof skills and run /specproof — it calls this CLI internally and drives the full BDD flow for you.

No install required — run it with npx:

# Scaffold a Playwright (web) e2e package
npx @pound79/specproof init --adapter playwright

# Scaffold a Flutter (flutter_gherkin + Patrol) package
npx @pound79/specproof init --adapter flutter

# Let the CLI detect the framework and pick an adapter
npx @pound79/specproof init --adapter auto

# Detect the framework without writing anything (read-only)
npx @pound79/specproof detect --json

Requires Node.js >= 24.

Commands

| Command | Description | |---|---| | init | Scaffold a BDD test package into the repo. | | detect | Detect the framework and suggest an adapter (read-only). | | setup-agent | Install specproof skills for a specific AI coding agent. |

init options

| Option | Description | |---|---| | --adapter <playwright\|flutter\|auto> | Test framework adapter. Required. auto also accepts a lone medium-confidence match (e.g. a plain React app) — multiple or low-confidence-only candidates still require an explicit --adapter. | | --dir <e2e-dir> | Target directory for the e2e package. When it differs from the template default, the hardcoded paths inside the scaffolded specproof.config.yaml are rewritten to match. | | --force | Overwrite existing files instead of skipping them. CI workflow files under .github/workflows/ are never overwritten this way — merge those by hand. | | --agent <claude\|codex> | Tailor next-steps output to a specific agent. Omit for both. |

detect options

| Option | Description | |---|---| | --json | Output the detection result as JSON. |

setup-agent usage

# Install skills for Codex (creates .agents/skills/)
npx @pound79/specproof setup-agent codex

# Show Claude Code install instructions
npx @pound79/specproof setup-agent claude

# Overwrite existing skill files
npx @pound79/specproof setup-agent codex --force
