Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.1.1

FieldOps React Native UI components with NativeWind dual style path

Readme

fieldops-ui

Five token-driven React Native components for field operations. Supports NativeWind className and React Native style overrides.

Published as @pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui on npmjs (public).

Full API: docs/usage.md.

Install

npm install @pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui
# or
yarn add @pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui
# or
pnpm add @pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui

Peers: react, react-native, nativewind (v4). NativeWind hosts also need react-native-reanimated, react-native-safe-area-context, and tailwindcss@^3 per the NativeWind install guide.

Host matrix

| Host | Appearance | | --- | --- | | Expo + NativeWind | className + token preset | | Bare RN + NativeWind | same | | No NativeWind | StyleSheet token defaults + style only |

NativeWind setup

Configure Babel, Metro (withNativeWind), and global.css in the host, then:

// tailwind.config.js
module.exports = {
  content: [
    './App.{js,jsx,ts,tsx}',
    './src/**/*.{js,jsx,ts,tsx}',
    './node_modules/@pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui/lib/**/*.{js,jsx,ts,tsx}',
  ],
  presets: [
    require('nativewind/preset'),
    require('@pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui/preset'),
  ],
};

./preset resolves to a CJS wrapper (preset.cjs) for require().

Without NativeWind

import { Button } from '@pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui';

<Button style={{ opacity: 0.8 }} onPress={handleSave}>
  Save
</Button>

Quick examples

import {
  Badge,
  Button,
  Select,
  Text,
  TextField,
} from '@pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui';

<Button variant="primary" onPress={handleSave} isLoading={isSaving}>
  Save
</Button>

<Text role="heading">Work orders</Text>

<TextField
  label="Email"
  value={email}
  onChangeText={setEmail}
  endAdornment={<Button variant="ghost">Show</Button>}
/>

<Select
  accessibilityLabel="Status"
  options={[{ label: 'Open', value: 'open' }]}
  value="open"
  onValueChange={setStatus}
/>

<Badge status="in_progress">In progress</Badge>

Local examples

example-expo/ and example-bare/ are for development only — not published. They depend on the npmjs package @pranadwaghmare2/fieldops-ui (not file:..).

Install examples after the library is published:

# Expo (Android physical device: prefer tunnel if LAN fails)
cd example-expo && npm install && npx expo start -c
# if Expo Go cannot download the bundle:
# npx expo start --tunnel -c
# emulator optional: adb reverse tcp:8081 tcp:8081

# Bare RN (includes ios/ + android/)
cd example-bare && npm install && npm run android
# or: npm run ios

Yarn / pnpm work the same way in each example folder.

Publish (maintainers)

After merging to main, from npm user pranadwaghmare2:

npm login
npm whoami # must print pranadwaghmare2
npm publish --access public

Bump version in package.json before each release. Reviewers install with no token.
