Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Language Server Protocol server for Pre-CR Suite

Readme

@pre-cr/server

Language Server Protocol server and CLI package for Pre-CR Suite.

Install

pnpm add -g @pre-cr/server

This package exposes two commands:

  • pre-cr-server starts the LSP server for editor clients.
  • pre-cr runs the headless changed-line readiness gate.

Headless Gate

pre-cr run --workspace /path/to/repo
pre-cr run --json --workspace /path/to/repo

The headless gate uses the same .pre-cr.json configuration and @pre-cr/core pipeline as the editor integrations.

Git Hooks

Hook installation is explicit. Installing the package does not mutate .git/hooks, Husky, Lefthook, or pre-commit framework config.

pre-cr hook install
pre-cr hook status --json
pre-cr hook run --workspace /path/to/repo --hook pre-commit --json
pre-cr hook uninstall

Supported managers are native, husky, lefthook, pre-commit, auto, and all. The default hook is pre-commit; pre-push is also supported.

Installed hooks require .pre-cr.json, inspect staged files, run deterministic commit checks, and then run the existing changed-line readiness gate for staged source changes.

Hook policy lives in .pre-cr.json:

{
  "version": 1,
  "hook": {
    "defaultHook": "pre-commit",
    "rules": {
      "oversized-source": "warn",
      "typescript-any": "block"
    },
    "audit": {
      "enabled": false,
      "path": ".pre-cr/audit.jsonl"
    }
  }
}

Public Beta Surface

The beta-supported server surface is Pre-CR Check, Refresh Coverage, Fix Setup, the headless JSON gate, and command-only hook management. Broader checklist, docs, review, context, and debug methods are experimental.

Scope

This README documents the server subproject inside pre-cr-suite-lsp/packages.

Repository Layout

  • .eslintrc.json - project file.
  • package.json - JavaScript package metadata and scripts.
  • src/ - source code and package internals.
  • tsconfig.json - project file.
  • vitest.config.ts - project file.

Common Commands

  • pnpm build - tsc
  • pnpm typecheck - tsc --noEmit
  • pnpm watch - tsc -w
  • pnpm test - vitest run
  • pnpm lint - eslint src --ext ts
  • pnpm clean - rm -rf dist

Development Notes

Runtime dependencies include @pre-cr/core, js-yaml, vscode-languageserver, vscode-languageserver-textdocument, vscode-uri. Use pnpm from the containing workspace to install dependencies and run scripts.
