Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@radiantailabs/polaris-ui is an open source Svelte 5 component library for building Polaris web apps such as polaris-dashboard.

The package is released under the Apache 2.0 license.

Installation

bun add @radiantailabs/polaris-ui

Install published versions from the package registry. Do not consume the library from a git dependency in normal application development.

Usage

Import the package styles once in your application shell:

<script>
  import '@radiantailabs/polaris-ui/styles/index.css';
</script>

Then import components from the package:

<script>
  import { Button, Icon, Input } from '@radiantailabs/polaris-ui';
</script>

<Button variant="primary" label="Save" icon="check" />
<Button variant="invisible" size="small" icon="moon" />
<Input placeholder="Search..." />

Tree-shakeable imports are also available:

import { Button } from '@radiantailabs/polaris-ui/components/button';

SCSS Tokens

Consumers do not need custom Sass additionalData injection to use the component library.

If your app wants direct access to Polaris design tokens in its own styles, import them explicitly:

@use '@radiantailabs/polaris-ui/styles/tokens' as *;

That keeps token imports local to the stylesheet that needs them and avoids duplicate global Sass imports.

Fonts

The package includes Hanken Grotesk (normal and italic, weights 100–900) and Fira Code (weights 300–700) as local variable WOFF2 files. Importing the package styles loads them automatically. Their supported Unicode subsets and SIL Open Font License notices are included under dist/styles/fonts/; there are no runtime requests to Google Fonts or another font CDN.

Vite bundles these font files with an application's assets.

Theming

Light and dark mode are controlled by the data-theme attribute on <html>. If unset, the browser preference is used.

document.documentElement.setAttribute('data-theme', 'dark');

Development

bun install
bun run dev
bun run package
bun run check
bun run lint

bun run package generates dist/ locally for packaging and release workflows. dist/ is not intended to be committed to git.

Publishing

Releases should publish from CI or a dedicated release environment after building from source. The git repository is source-first; package artifacts are produced during the release process.
