Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@rafi-ai/cli

v0.3.5

Published

Rafi CLI — scaffold and compile AI framework configs for a target repo.

Readme

@rafi-ai/cli

Scaffold, compile, and drive your AI agent harness — all from one command.

rafi create reads your stack, assembles best-practice rule packs, and writes the files Claude Code and Codex read. rafi start drives an agent builder through a ticket queue unattended. All ai-foreman commands are available under rafi.

Install

npm install -g @rafi-ai/cli

Commands

Scaffold & compile

cd my-repo
rafi create . # interactive walkthrough
rafi create . --defaults # skip walkthrough, use built-in defaults
rafi compile . # re-render after editing project.yaml

rafi create collects your stack (frontend, backend, database, cloud, package manager) and three boolean flags: usesAI, hasFrontend, runsInCloud. It also asks whether you'll use Claude Code — if yes, the Claude Agent SDK is installed automatically. Answers are saved to project.yaml.

Ticket lifecycle

rafi tickets init --app-name "My App" # initialize .tickets/ in the project
rafi tickets populate # agent fills tickets from existing docs
rafi tickets queue # show the next-N queue
rafi tickets validate # run all 4 validation passes
rafi tickets render # regenerate docs/ticket-progress.md

Run the builder

rafi start . --steps 10 # drive a Claude builder through 10 steps
rafi start . --steps 5 --agent codex # use Codex instead
rafi start . --steps 5 --no-qa # skip per-ticket QA
rafi status . # summarize the most recent run
rafi doctor . # check env, config, and readiness

What gets written

<project>/
  AGENTS.md Codex flat rules doc
CLAUDE.md Claude Code entrypoint (@AGENTS.md import)
  project.yaml stack config (commit this)
.claude/agents/<role>.md Claude subagent files (builder, qa, planner, ticket-maker)
.rafi/compiled/<role>/system.md role system text — read at runtime
  .rafi/compiled/<role>/meta.json skills + model config
docs/ starter doc templates (flag-gated by stack)

Part of Rafi

  • special-agents — library (rules + skills + agents + composition)
  • ai-foreman — standalone runtime (same commands, separate install)
  • @rafi-ai/cli — this CLI (includes everything)
