Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@raincheck/glyph

v0.1.2

Published

Framework-independent TypeScript utilities and types.

Readme

@raincheck/glyph

Small, framework-independent, tree-shakeable TypeScript utilities.

npm install @raincheck/glyph
import { pick } from "@raincheck/glyph/object";
import { resolveNumberProp } from "@raincheck/glyph/math";
import { insertAt } from "@raincheck/glyph/array";

Only explicit module subpath imports are supported. The package ships ESM JavaScript and TypeScript declarations and requires Node.js 18 or newer.

Utilities

| Subpath | Utilities | | -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------- | | array | Insertion, grouping, partitioning, selection, and neighboring items | | object | Cloning, picking, omitting, shallow differences, and selectors | | string | Truncation and hashing | | math | Clamping and numeric property resolution | | date | UTC date formatting | | time | Duration conversion, timestamps, and time parsing | | enum | Numeric enum extraction | | parse | Value parsing, property defaults, and allowed values | | schema | Schema validation, enums, defaults, and numeric constraints | | persist | Browser storage | | platform | Platform detection | | promises | Settled promise values |

  • Array helpers include random and hash selection, neighboring items, and partitioning.
  • The parser accepts numeric strings through numeric; number accepts only finite numbers; numericPlus returns undefined for nonpositive results.
  • Date helpers use native Date and format UTC values.
  • Browser storage reads return an empty object when unavailable or invalid.
  • groupBy preserves key types and insertion order; cloneDeep uses structuredClone; dateFromTime validates input; ellipses honors the supplied length.

Development

npm install
npm run verify

Publishing

Run in Git Bash from this repository:

npm run release

The script verifies the package, prompts for an npm token without displaying it, and publishes the current version publicly to npm. The token is passed through the script's environment and cleared when the script exits; it is never written to a file. The committed .npmrc contains only the NPM_TOKEN placeholder.

The token must have publishing access to the package scope. npm may require a 2FA challenge unless the token permits bypassing 2FA.

To verify and preview publishing without uploading or prompting for a token:

npm run release -- --dry-run

Use a new package version for each release.
