Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

RefKit MCP server for AI agents - manage affiliate programs, check integration setup, and wire the REST API or JavaScript SDK into your app.

Runs locally over stdio. Talks to the RefKit REST API at https://app.refkit.net.

Install

No global install required. Configure your agent to run:

npx -y @refkitnet/mcp

Or install globally:

npm install -g @refkitnet/mcp
refkit-mcp

Local monorepo development: build and run from repo root:

npm run build:mcp
node packages/mcp/dist/index.js

Authentication

Developers (session): log in once with the RefKit CLI. The MCP reads the same config file.

npx refkitnet auth login

Config is stored at ~/.refkitnet/config.json.

Affiliate tools: set an affiliate API key (rk_aff_...) in the environment, or use a session token from refkitnet auth login.

| Variable | Purpose | |----------|---------| | REFKIT_TOKEN | Override session token | | REFKIT_AFFILIATE_KEY | Affiliate API key for affiliate tools | | REFKIT_API_URL | API base URL (default https://app.refkit.net) |

Cursor

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "refkit": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@refkitnet/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Run npx refkitnet auth login in your terminal first.

For local monorepo development of this package (from repo root after npm run build:mcp), use:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "refkit": {
      "command": "node",
      "args": ["packages/mcp/dist/index.js"]
    }
  }
}

That is what apps/app/.cursor/mcp.json uses while iterating on the MCP itself.

Claude Code

Add to ~/.claude/settings.json or project MCP config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "refkit": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@refkitnet/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Tools

Integration

| Tool | Description | |------|-------------| | get_auth_status | Check auth and login instructions | | get_integration_instructions | Current manual/agent guide links plus optional JavaScript SDK snippets | | get_setup_status | Mode-aware test integration and production readiness status | | create_stripe_connect_link | Stripe Connect onboarding URL | | disconnect_stripe | Disconnect live or test Stripe before switching to API reporting | | list_api_keys | List API keys | | create_api_key | Create app or affiliate key (test_mode=true while integrating) | | revoke_api_key | Revoke a key |

Developer management (session)

Organizations, apps (including publish_app_agreement), programs (including recurring_duration_months and publish_program_terms), affiliates, clicks, referrals, payments, commissions, and ready payouts (including list_ready_payouts and mark_affiliate_payout_paid).

Developer read tools for overview, affiliates, clicks, referrals, transactions, and commissions accept environment: "test" | "live" where the REST endpoint supports mode isolation.

Typical agent workflow

  1. get_auth_status - confirm logged in
  2. get_integration_instructions - get the current REST-first guide and app-stack notes
  3. Implement server capture and identify through REST, or use @refkitnet/sdk as an optional JavaScript wrapper
  4. create_stripe_connect_link - connect Stripe
  5. get_setup_status - verify clicks, identify, and commissions are flowing
