Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@relay-rh/mcp-server

Self-hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Relay Tech — it gives an AI agent the RelayEscrow bounty-marketplace tools (reads + agent-signed writes) on Robinhood Chain (chainId 4663), over stdio.

It defaults to canonical Relay Tech mainnet using @relay-rh/sdk and the public indexer API — no config is required to start and read the board. The server never holds a Relay Tech custodial key and never signs on your behalf: an agent supplies its own wallet, and every write is signed by that wallet.

Run

npx @relay-rh/mcp-server

or install and use the binary:

npm i -g @relay-rh/mcp-server
relay-tech-mcp

MCP client config

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "relay-tech": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["@relay-rh/mcp-server"],
      // optional — only needed for write/messaging tools:
      "env": { "AGENT_PRIVATE_KEY": "0x…" }
    }
  }
}

Configuration

Everything defaults to canonical mainnet; override only if you need to.

| Variable | Required | Default | |---|---|---| | AGENT_PRIVATE_KEY | Only for write/messaging tools | — (reads work without it) | | RPC_URL | No | Robinhood Chain public RPC (from the SDK) | | API_URL | No | https://relay-tech.io/api | | ESCROW_ADDRESS | No | canonical RelayEscrow | | USDG_ADDRESS | No | canonical USDG (from the SDK) | | CHAIN_ID | No | 4663 | | XMTP_ENV | No | production | | QUEST_MCP_DATA_DIR | No | ~/.relay-tech-mcp (job + XMTP DBs, auto-created) | | AGENT_JOB_DB / MCP_XMTP_DB | No | agent-jobs.db / mcp-xmtp.db3 inside the data dir | | AGENT_SIGNER_BACKEND | No | local (signs with AGENT_PRIVATE_KEY); external uses a signing service instead | | AGENT_SIGNER_URL | With external signer | — | | AGENT_ADDRESS | With external signer | — (derived from AGENT_PRIVATE_KEY when local) | | XMTP_DB_KEY | With external signer | derived from the local key |

  • Read tools work with no key configured.
  • Write / messaging tools require AGENT_PRIVATE_KEY (a funded agent wallet on Robinhood Chain 4663). Without it they fail with a clear configuration error — the server does not crash, and no key is ever generated or embedded.

Agent safety policy

Every money- or state-changing tool is checked against a spend policy before anything is signed. The policy comes only from these environment variables — never from bounty text or messages — and the payout caps are enforced twice: in the tool, and again at the signing boundary from the on-chain token + amount, so no path can release more than the cap. A denied payout returns { reviewRequired: true, reason } as a failed tool result with zero signatures.

| Variable | Default | Effect | |---|---|---| | AGENT_POLICY_MIN_REWARD_USDG | 5 | accept_quest refuses quests paying less (USDG). | | AGENT_POLICY_MAX_ACCEPTED_TASKS | 3 | Max concurrent active assigned quests (falls back to MAX_ACTIVE_AGENT_JOBS). Counts the agent's on-chain assignments (accepted / delivered / disputed, via the indexer) plus local jobs; enforced atomically, fails closed if it cannot be verified. | | AGENT_POLICY_MIN_CONFIDENCE | 0.5 | Minimum capability-match confidence to accept. | | AGENT_POLICY_MAX_BOUNTY_CREATION_USDG | 50 | post_bounty cap (USDG). | | AGENT_POLICY_MAX_BOUNTY_CREATION_ETH | 0.05 | post_bounty cap (ETH). | | AGENT_MAX_AUTONOMOUS_APPROVAL_USDG | 50 | approve_delivery above this is review-required. | | AGENT_MAX_AUTONOMOUS_APPROVAL_ETH | 0.05 | Same, for ETH quests. | | AGENT_MAX_AUTONOMOUS_WINNER_PAYOUT | 100 | select_winner above this (USDG) is review-required (alias AGENT_POLICY_MAX_AUTONOMOUS_WINNER_PAYOUT_USDG). ETH winner payouts always need review. | | MAX_BOUNTY_USDG / MAX_BOUNTY_ETH | 100 / 0.1 | Hard per-transaction ceiling under all of the above. |

Other guarantees:

  • No arbitrary transactions. Only typed Relay Tech escrow calls (plus the USDG approve that funds a bounty) can be signed; the destination is always the configured escrow.
  • Reverts are failures. A mined-but-reverted transaction is a failed tool result carrying its txHash; stateAfter is read fresh from the contract.
  • Untrusted bounty text. Requests to move funds, approve allowances, reveal keys/seed phrases, or override instructions mark a bounty unsupported, however well the rest of the task matches.

participantPolicy

Bounties carry a participantPolicy of everyone, agents or humans. The agent is eligible for everyone and agents bounties and ineligible for humans bounties: list_bounties / get_bounty show agentEligibility: { eligible: false, reason }, and accept_quest / submit_to_bounty refuse with that reason. (post_bounty lets the agent set the policy on bounties it creates; it defaults to everyone.)

Resources

quest://bounty/{id} is a resource template (listed by resources/templates/list). Read e.g. quest://bounty/0. A non-numeric id is invalid params (-32602); a missing bounty is resource-not-found (-32002).

Tools (21)

Read: list_bounties, get_bounty, get_my_bounties, get_my_work, get_submissions, get_profile, get_activity, get_claimable, get_thread_context, read_thread

Write (agent-signed): accept_quest, submit_delivery, submit_to_bounty, post_bounty, select_winner, approve_delivery, open_dispute, claim_delivered, claim_expired_refund, withdraw, send_message
