Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Noto Sans KR subset (Thin/Regular/Bold) for ReoGrid PDF export (ko).

Readme

@reogrid/font-kr

Noto Sans KR — subset to the EUC-KR repertoire and instanced at Thin (100), Regular (400), Bold (700) — packaged for ReoGrid PDF export, so a browser never has to fetch a 9.93 MB variable font from a CDN.

npm install @reogrid/font-kr
import { registerPdfFont, preloadPdfFont } from '@reogrid/pro';
import { notoSansKR } from '@reogrid/font-kr';

registerPdfFont('ko', notoSansKR); // all three weights
await preloadPdfFont('ko'); // once, at app start

grid.saveAsPdf({ locale: 'ko', filename: 'report.pdf' });

Bold cells print with real Bold outlines instead of a stroked approximation. To keep the download to a single face, register just that one:

import { loadNotoSansKRRegular } from '@reogrid/font-kr';
registerPdfFont('ko', loadNotoSansKRRegular);

The per-weight form needs @reogrid/pro 1.6.0 or newer. Older versions accept the single-face form above.

What is in it

| | | |---|---| | Upstream | notosanskr @ 7ff85c87f9 | | Characters | 3,201 (EUC-KR repertoire + ASCII + ¥₩€£¢) | | Upstream | 9.93 MB (variable) | | Thin — NotoSansKR-Thin.ttf | 567 KB | | Regular — NotoSansKR-Regular.ttf | 567 KB | | Bold — NotoSansKR-Bold.ttf | 567 KB |

Each weight is a plain static face: fvar/gvar are gone, OS/2.usWeightClass is set, and the name table says which weight it is. A consumer that embeds glyf outlines without applying variations — which is what a PDF engine does — therefore draws the weight you asked for. (Upstream's variable font defaults to wght 100, which is why embedding it directly produces a hairline document.)

Characters outside that repertoire fall back to .notdef — pass your own font bytes to registerPdfFont if you need wider coverage.

Without a bundler

The .ttf files are published in the package, so a CDN serves them directly:

https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@reogrid/[email protected]/NotoSansKR-Regular.ttf

That is where ReoGrid's built-in { locale: 'ko' } font comes from when you have not registered anything yourself.

Licence

Noto Sans KR is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which is included in this package and applies to the subset as well. The build scripts are MIT.
