Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@rightkit/media-ui

v0.3.4

Published

Brand-neutral media player and image viewer/editor for Right Suite apps.

Readme

@rightkit/media-ui

Brand-neutral media player and image viewer/editor for Right Suite apps. The root entry holds the player, the adapter provider and every pure image helper. Image viewer and editor live in a separate entry because they need the optional fabric peer.

| Item | Value | |---|---| | Where it runs | App webview UI (React) | | Rust pair | None declared. Compatibility-copy playback is wired by the app's preparePlayback adapter, which the app backs with rightkit-playback. | | Version | see INDEX.md | | License | MIT OR Apache-2.0 |

Entry points

| Import | Contents | |---|---| | @rightkit/media-ui | MediaPlayer, MediaAdaptersProvider, useMediaAdapters, label defaults, pure image-edit and export helpers, crop helpers, image save helpers, image-viewer state helpers, icons. Never imports fabric. | | @rightkit/media-ui/image | ImageViewer, ImageEditor, ImageViewerProps, ImageTool (needs fabric) | | @rightkit/media-ui/styles.css | Stylesheet. Import once. |

Peer dependencies

| Peer | Range | Required | |---|---|---| | react, react-dom | >=18 <21 | Yes | | fabric | ^7.4.0 | Optional. Only for @rightkit/media-ui/image. |

Example

Illustrative. Player-only apps need no fabric.

import { MediaAdaptersProvider, MediaPlayer } from "@rightkit/media-ui";
import "@rightkit/media-ui/styles.css";

// Wrap the app (or a subtree) once with the host's adapters:
// <MediaAdaptersProvider adapters={{ resolveSrc, preparePlayback, cancelPlayback }}>
//   <MediaPlayer ... />
// </MediaAdaptersProvider>

Image apps add fabric and react-image-crop and import ImageViewer or ImageEditor from @rightkit/media-ui/image. Because fabric lists the native canvas addon as an optional dependency, a pnpm workspace may need allowBuilds: { canvas: false }.

Adapters are all optional: resolveSrc, preparePlayback, cancelPlayback, setFullscreen, listImageSiblings, listSystemFonts, bundledFonts, saveImage, printImage, acquireResource, notify, logError.

Theme with --rk-media-* and --rk-iv-* custom properties on :root or an ancestor. The shared fallback is --rk-accent.

Known issues

  • None open. react-image-crop (^11.1.2) is an optional peer since 0.3.0. It is imported only under ./image (lazily, from src/image/ImageViewerStage.tsx). Image-viewer apps must install it alongside fabric; player-only apps need neither.
