Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Create a new Root App or Bot from templates

@rootsdk/create-root

Root supplies a command-line utility named @rootsdk/create-root that generates starter code. You'll need npx installed on your machine in order to run the tool (npx is included with Node.js).

Usage

To create a new project using @rootsdk/create-root, open a terminal, navigate to your target folder, and run the following command:

npx @rootsdk/create-root <type> <name>

Parameters

  • <type> → The project type: --app or --bot.
  • <name> → The name of your project. This will also be used as the folder name. Do not include the angle brackets in your name.

Example

npx @rootsdk/create-root --app MyApp
npx @rootsdk/create-root --bot MyBot
