Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Vercel Eve sandbox backend adapter for Sandbox0

Readme

@sandbox0/eve

Vercel Eve sandbox backend adapter for Sandbox0.

Installation

Eve 0.11.x requires Node.js 24 or newer.

npm install eve sandbox0 @sandbox0/eve

Usage

import { defineSandbox } from "eve/sandbox";
import { sandbox0 } from "@sandbox0/eve";

export default defineSandbox({
  backend: sandbox0({
    template: "default",
    networkPolicy: "allow-all",
  }),
  async bootstrap({ use }) {
    const sandbox = await use();
    await sandbox.run({ command: "npm install" });
  },
});

The adapter reads SANDBOX0_TOKEN or SANDBOX0_API_KEY by default. Set SANDBOX0_BASE_URL for non-default regional gateways.

Behavior

  • Eve prewarm() claims a Sandbox0 sandbox, runs bootstrap, writes seed files, pauses the prewarm sandbox, then captures a rootfs snapshot.
  • Paused prewarm sandboxes get hardTtl: 3600 by default so they do not remain forever. Override with prewarmSandboxHardTtlSec, or set it to null to omit the adapter-managed hard TTL.
  • Eve create() claims a live Sandbox0 sandbox from the prewarmed rootfs snapshot.
  • The adapter stores the Eve templateKey to Sandbox0 snapshotId mapping under .eve/sandbox0/.
  • captureState() stores sandboxId; later Eve resumes that Sandbox0 sandbox through existingMetadata.
  • dispose() keeps the sandbox by default. Pass dispose: "delete" to delete it when Eve releases the handle.

Network Policy

Supported Eve policies:

  • "allow-all"
  • "deny-all"
  • object policies with domain allow and subnet allow/deny

Vercel transform and forwardURL rules are rejected because Sandbox0's credential injection model is explicit credential binding, not raw header rewriting in this adapter.

Current Limits

Call Eve's prewarm/build flow before serving requests so the .eve/sandbox0/ template registry exists for runtime sandbox creation.
