Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Invocation grid worker process for ScaleOut Digital Twin Builder using ScaleOut StreamServer

Readme

ScaleOut Digital Twin Builder Invocation Grid Worker

This package serves as a Node-based event sink for the ScaleOut Digital Twin Builder (TM). It receives messages for real-time digital twins running in the ScaleOut Digital Twin Streaming Service (TM) or on-premise using ScaleOut StreamServer (TM). These messages originate from other client programs, such as the ScaleOut Digital Twin Client library for Javascript.

For more information, please see the ScaleOut Digital Twin Streaming Service User Guide.

Installation

This package is only intended for use with ScaleOut StreamServer. To receive events using Node.js, first ensure that Node.js is installed on all hosts in the ScaleOut store and available on the system path (you may need to restart the ScaleOut service after installation for it to recognize the new system path). Then, using an administrative shell, navigate to the ScaleOut StreamServer installation directory and use NPM to install this package:

npm install @scaleoutsoftware/digital_twin_ig_worker

After installing this package, you can start a Node-based invocation grid to receive events for a Digital Twin model using the soss.exe command-line control program:

soss start_ig node DT_NAME RESOURCE_FILE [COMMAND_LINE_PARAMS]

where the parameters are:

DT_NAME - The name of the Digital Twin model to be registered and deployed.

RESOURCE_FILE - Location of the file containing the custom message handling logic. This must be either a single .js file or a .zip archive whose name corresponds to the DT_NAME argument.

COMMAND_LINE_PARAMS - Optional, arbitrary command line argument(s) to pass to Node.js worker processes. For example, the Node.js --inspect flag may used to enable debugging of the worker process.

The Digital Twin model event handling for Javascript is further described in the ScaleOut Digital Twin Builder User Guide.
