Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server for SellHapi — build and manage storefronts from AI tools.

Two modes

Stdio (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf) — runs locally, authenticates with API key.

Hosted HTTP (ChatGPT, Claude web) — runs as a service, authenticates via OAuth 2.1.

Setup — stdio

1. Install

npm install -g @sellhapi/mcp

2. Get an API key

Go to sellhapi.com → Settings → API Keys → Create Key.

3. Configure your AI tool

Claude Code — add to ~/.claude/claude_desktop_config.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sellhapi": {
      "command": "sellhapi-mcp",
      "args": ["--api-key", "sk_live_your_key_here"]
    }
  }
}

Cursor — add to MCP settings:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sellhapi": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@sellhapi/mcp@latest", "--api-key", "sk_live_your_key_here"]
    }
  }
}

Or set the environment variable instead of --api-key:

export SELLHAPI_API_KEY=sk_live_your_key_here

Setup — hosted (ChatGPT, Claude web)

The SellHapi MCP server is hosted at:

https://sellhapi-mcp.onrender.com/mcp

No installation required — just connect your AI client.

Claude web

  1. Go to claude.ai → Settings → Integrations → Add integration
  2. Enter: https://sellhapi-mcp.onrender.com/mcp
  3. Click Connect — you'll be redirected to SellHapi to authorise access
  4. Once authorised, all SellHapi tools are available in your Claude conversations

ChatGPT

  1. Go to chatgpt.com → your profile → My GPTs → Create a GPT (or edit an existing one)
  2. In the GPT editor → Configure → Actions → Add action
  3. Set the server URL to: https://sellhapi-mcp.onrender.com/mcp
  4. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 — the server handles the full flow automatically

sell_api env vars

The sell_api server needs these for OAuth:

| Variable | Description | |----------|-------------| | MCP_OAUTH_SECRET | JWT signing secret for MCP access tokens. Falls back to JWT_VENDOR_SECRET if not set. | | SELLHAPI_VENDOR_URL | Base URL for consent pages (default: https://sellhapi.com) |
