Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.2.0

Published

CLI for agent-stats — analyze Claude Code and Codex CLI sessions.

Readme

@sentropic/agent-stats

CLI for agent-stats. Reads Claude Code and Codex CLI session jsonl files, aggregates them per week, and emits JSON or Markdown.

Install

npm install -g @sentropic/agent-stats
# or in a workspace
npm install --save-dev @sentropic/agent-stats

Subcommands

agent-stats stats

Compute weekly aggregations.

agent-stats stats [options]

Options:
  --since <iso> Lower bound (ISO 8601)
  --until <iso> Upper bound (ISO 8601)
  --tool <name> Restrict to one tool: claude | codex
  --project <cwd> Filter by cwd (exact, or prefix with trailing /)
  --format <fmt> json (default) | table
  --out <file> Write to file instead of stdout

Each emitted row is a WeeklyAggregation keyed by (weekStart, projectCwd, tool, model) with: token totals (input / cached / cacheWrite / output / reasoning), sessions / turns / durations, tool & skill counts, sub-agent stats, cost estimates split per currency (codex_credits vs claude_usd_cents), and max rate-limit % seen.

agent-stats report

Generate a Markdown weekly report.

agent-stats report [options]

Options:
  --since <iso> Lower bound (ISO 8601)
  --until <iso> Upper bound (ISO 8601)
  --tool <name> Restrict to one tool: claude | codex
  --project <cwd>   Filter by cwd
  --top <n> Top-N projects / models per week (default 10)
  --out <file> Write to file instead of stdout

Each week section contains: Totals (sessions, turns, tool calls, compactions, tokens, cache-hit %, cost), Top projects, Top models.

Roadmap

  • anomalies — heuristic frustration / IA-out-of-control detection (WP5)
  • clean — redact secrets in session jsonl via secretlint (WP6)
  • analyze — LLM-based qualitative analysis via @sentropic/llm-mesh (WP7)
  • web — launch the local SvelteKit dashboard (WP8)
  • bench — benchmark LLM models on a labeled eval set (WP7)

See plan.md for the full roadmap.

Programmatic use

The same logic is available as a library:

import { runStats, runReport } from '@sentropic/agent-stats';

const { rows, output } = await runStats({ since: '2026-05-01', format: 'json' });
