Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Jest Sentry Environment

Adds Sentry performance monitoring to your Jest test suites to find your slowest tests.

Sentry Example

Installation

This package requires Node.js 24 or newer, Jest 30 or newer, and @sentry/node 10 or newer.

Install this package, the Sentry Node SDK, Jest, and the dependencies for the environment you use. For jsdom:

npm install --save-dev @sentry/jest-environment @sentry/node jest @jest/environment-jsdom-abstract jsdom

For the Node environment, install jest-environment-node instead of @jest/environment-jsdom-abstract and jsdom.

Then configure the environment and Sentry options in jest.config.js:

Set init.dsn to false to disable instrumentation without loading the Sentry SDK, for example dsn: process.env.SENTRY_DSN || false.

Each test suite is recorded as a transaction. Executed tests are also recorded as individually searchable transactions, with their hooks and test functions organized as child spans. CPU profiling is not included.

You can either import the jsdom or node environments. You can also customize the base environment by specifying your own testEnvironment.
