Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

simpleotp-sdk-js-core

This is the core JavaScript-based authentication SDK for Simple OTP, the easiest way to add passwordless authentication to your website.

Integration documentation varies depending on which frontend library you're using, see below:

React: Docs and Component Examples

https://github.com/mockernut-ventures/simpleotp-sdk-js-react#readme

Vue: Docs and Component Examples

https://github.com/mockernut-ventures/simpleotp-sdk-js-vue#readme

Others

If you aren't using either of the above frameworks, you will just need to use this library by itself and write your own integration code. To install the library: npm i @simpleotp/core

For examples of how to use the core library without the React or Vue plugin, see here.

Magic Link vs. Code-based Authentication

The only situation where we recommend Code-based authentication is when users cannot click a web URL to open your app. For example, progressive web apps (PWAs) have this problem and should use code based authentication. All other apps should use Magic Links.

About Simple OTP

We make integration easy for developers: Install our JavaScript SDK and integrate in just a few lines of code. You can use our API and webhook events to automate tasks such as blacklisting users, creating sites, and updating account details.

We obsess over privacy: The only data Simple OTP collects from a signup is an email address, which is only used in a transactional fashion as a part of the passwordless sign-in process. Your users' email addresses are never shared with third party companies.

We offer self-hosting and source code access: Host Simple OTP on your own servers and store user emails in your own database. We'll also provide you with support if you need it.

Our pricing is fair: We have consistent, flat-rate, "pay once" pricing with unlimited user caps to allow you to operate a production website. Unlike the competition, we don't arbitrarily charge more based on what type of website or business you operate.
