Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

New Relic

Query telemetry data using NRQL across metrics, events, logs, and traces. Create and manage alert policies and NRQL alert conditions, and list alert issues. Build and update dashboards with custom widgets and charts. Search, tag, and manage monitored entities such as applications, hosts, and services. Configure synthetic monitors to proactively detect issues. Ingest custom metrics, events, logs, and distributed tracing spans via dedicated APIs. Track deployments and change markers.

Tools

Create Change Tracking Marker

Record a deployment or change event for an entity. Change tracking markers appear on New Relic charts, allowing you to correlate deployments with performance changes.

Ingest Data

Send custom telemetry data to New Relic. Supports ingesting metrics, events, logs, and traces via the respective ingest APIs. Requires a License Key to be configured in authentication.

Manage Alert Condition

Create, update, or delete NRQL-based alert conditions. Alert conditions define thresholds that trigger incidents. Supports both static (fixed threshold) and baseline (anomaly detection) condition types.

List Alert Issues

List and filter New Relic alert issues for the configured account. Use this to inspect active, deactivated, and closed issue state from incident intelligence.

Manage Alert Policy

List, get, create, update, or delete New Relic alert policies. Policies group alert conditions and define how New Relic opens incidents.

Manage Dashboard

Create, read, update, or delete New Relic dashboards. Dashboards consist of pages containing widgets (charts, tables, billboards, markdown), each driven by NRQL queries.

Manage Entity Tags

Add, replace, or delete tags on a New Relic entity. Tags help organize and filter entities across your environment.

Manage Synthetic Monitor

Create, update, or delete synthetic monitors. Synthetics simulate user interactions or API calls to proactively detect availability and performance issues. Supports ping monitors, simple browser monitors, scripted browser tests, and scripted API tests.

Run NRQL Query

Execute an NRQL (New Relic Query Language) query against your telemetry data. Use this to query metrics, events, logs, and traces stored in New Relic. Supports filtering, aggregation, faceting, and time-series analysis with SQL-like syntax.

Search Entities

Search and discover entities monitored by New Relic. Entities include applications, hosts, services, dashboards, and cloud integrations. Use a query string with New Relic entity search syntax. Supports filtering by type, domain, name, tags, and alert severity.
