Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@smartput/date

v0.2.0

Published

A calendar day, with no time inside it.

Readme

@smartput/date

A calendar day, with no time inside it.

datetime truncated to a day and given its own kind id, so tomorrow is a date and tomorrow at 3pm is a datetime, and the two do not silently unify.

Every grammar @smartput/datetime reads arrives here: first friday next month, second monday in Aug 2027, and the calendar intervals, which land on their first day — next week is the coming Monday, next year is 1 January.

Setup

npm add @smartput/date

Example

import { composeLocale, createEngine } from "@smartput/core";
import { english } from "@smartput/core/locale/en";
import { BUILTIN_KINDS } from "@smartput/kinds";
import BUILTIN_EN from "@smartput/kinds/locale/en";
import { datetime } from "@smartput/datetime";
import datetimeEn from "@smartput/datetime/locale/en";
import { date } from "@smartput/date";

const engine = createEngine({
  locales: [composeLocale(english, [...BUILTIN_EN, datetimeEn])],
  kinds: [...BUILTIN_KINDS, datetime, date],
  timeZone: "Europe/Kyiv",
});

engine.evaluate("today").formatted        // "2026-01-15 00:00 UTC"
engine.evaluate("next friday").formatted  // "2026-01-23 00:00 UTC"
engine.evaluate("3 days ago").formatted   // "2026-01-12 00:00 UTC"

Entry points

| Import | Contents | | --- | --- | | @smartput/date | The package root. |

Runtime exports

Type-only exports are erased and do not appear here.

Dependencies

What it costs

Ceilings, not measurements. bun run check-size bundles each entry with bun build --minify and fails if a row crosses its ceiling or drops more than 30 % below it — a budget that is only an upper bound reports a vanished graph as a triumph.

| Import | Minified | Gzipped | | --- | --- | --- | | date | ≤ 150 kB | ≤ 52.1 kB |
