Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

NPM package for IntelliWake TypeScript Foundation Components

Readme

IntelliWakeTSFoundation Reference

This library provides foundational TypeScript utilities for data manipulation, formatting, and validation.

Core Modules

  • DateManager: Comprehensive date/time parsing and formatting.
  • SortSearch: Type-safe multi-property sorting.
  • Importer: Tabular data analysis and validation (CSV/Excel workflows).
  • Formatters: Currency, numeric, and string masking.

Documentation

  • Full Wiki: https://github.com/SolidBasisVentures/IntelliWakeTSFoundation/wiki
  • Importer Workflow: See ImporterUsage.md for validation priorities.

Implementation Patterns

  • Always validate imports in this order: Structural (Missing Columns) -> Integrity (Errors) -> Quality (Warnings).
  • Use DateManager for all date manipulations to ensure cross-timezone consistency.

IntelliwakeTSFoundation, short for the IntelliWake TypeScript Foundation Library provides multiple helper functions that are not present in vanilla JavaScript.

Documentation on how to use these features can be found on our WIKI

This library is meant to be used both on the client side and the server side.

Date and Date/Time Utilities

The basic premise of the date/time functions is that you can provide any format you like as an input (Javascript Date object, date string (MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD), date/time string, time string, ISO date time string (in a variety of flavors)) and it can parse, manipulate, compare and format them.

Format Utilities

Sometimes you just need to do some simple manipulation to format things nicely for users, but coming up with the right mechanism use isn't always straight forward. These utilities provide some great ways to get strings and numbers formatted for common needs.

Array Utilities

Javascript has an array.sort() function. But, it's implementation is inconsistent (comparison by subtraction for numbers, trying to get strings to sort case-insensitive, comparing dates and/or times, binaries, etc.). And then, if you want to sort by multiple conditions, the syntax is complicated to the point where it may not be obvious what the intent of the original developer was.

The idea behind this implementation is to handle sorts in a consistent way and vastly simplify the process of stacked sorting.

Generic Functions

There are a few additional functions that provide other features, like checking additional values for a truthy condition, coalescing 0's and blank strings, and providing a promise based sleep function.
