Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Angular copilot prompt MCP Server

Node.js server implementing Model Context Protocol (MCP) for retrieving context to improve Angular related copilot prompts.

Features

  • Retrieve context from local documentation files

API

Resources

  • file://system: File system operations interface

Tools

  • retrieve_documentation_context

    • Searches through markdown files in the current repository
    • Input: prompt (string)
    • Returns markdown file content that highly matches the content in the search prompt

Usage with Claude Desktop

Add this to your claude_desktop_config.json:

Note: you can provide sandboxed directories to the server by mounting them to /projects. Adding the ro flag will make the directory readonly by the server.

Docker

Note: all directories must be mounted to /projects by default.

    "filesystem": {
      "command": "docker",
      "args": [
        "run",

        "--mount",
        "type=bind,src=/Users/username/Desktop,dst=/projects/Desktop",
        "--mount",
        "type=bind,src=/path/to/other/allowed/dir,dst=/projects/other/allowed/dir,ro",
        "--mount",
        "type=bind,src=/path/to/file.txt,dst=/projects/path/to/file.txt",
        "mcp/angularcopilotprompt",
        "/projects"
      ]
    }
  }
}

NPX

      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@srleecode/angular-copilot-prompt-mcp-server", "{workspace directory}"]
    }
  }
}

Usage with VS Code

For manual installation, add the following JSON block to your User Settings (JSON) file in VS Code. You can do this by pressing Ctrl + Shift + P and typing Preferences: Open Settings (JSON).

Optionally, you can add it to a file called .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace. This will allow you to share the configuration with others.

Note that the mcp key is not needed in the .vscode/mcp.json file.

You can provide sandboxed directories to the server by mounting them to /projects. Adding the ro flag will make the directory readonly by the server.

Docker

Note: all directories must be mounted to /projects by default.

          "-i",
          "--rm",
          "--mount",
          "type=bind,src=${workspaceFolder},dst=/projects/workspace",
          "mcp/angularcopilotprompt",
          "/projects"
        ]
      }
    }
  }
}

NPX

        "args": ["-y", "@srleecode/angular-copilot-prompt-mcp-server", "{workspace directory}"]
      }
    }
  }
}

Searching multiple repositories

The "{workspace directory}" is the path that will be searched for documentation and where the cache will be created. Other directory can also be provided

Build

Docker build:

docker build -t mcp/angularcopilotprompt -f src/filesystem/Dockerfile .
