Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

StillUI Accordion

Accordion component is a UI element that allows users to expand and collapse sections of content. It can be useful for organizing large amounts of information in a limited space. An accordion component typically consists of a header that displays a title or a summary of the content, and a body that contains the full content.

Installation

npm i @still-ui/accordion

Anatomy

import {
  AccordionRoot,
  AccordionItem,
  AccordionTrigger,
  AccordionContent,
} from "@still-ui/accordion";

const Accordion = () => {
  return (
    <AccordionRoot>
      <AccordionItem>
        <AccordionTrigger />
        <AccordionContent></AccordionContent>
      </AccordionItem>
    </AccordionRoot>
  );
};

Example

import {
  AccordionRoot,
  AccordionItem,
  AccordionTrigger,
  AccordionContent,
} from "@still-ui/accordion";

const Accordion = () => {
  return (
    <AccordionRoot type="single" collapsible>
      <AccordionItem value="item-1">
        <AccordionTrigger
          title={"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit?"}
        />
        <AccordionContent>
          Nulla ornare, nulla at commodo condimentum, nibh elit cursus enim, a
          imperdiet dolor urna ut felis.
        </AccordionContent>
      </AccordionItem>

      <AccordionItem value="item-2">
        <AccordionTrigger title={"Pellentesque vel sapien nisl?"} />
        <AccordionContent>
          Fusce finibus justo ut dui auctor fermentum. Nulla facilisi. Curabitur
          quis enim vel felis accumsan faucibus.
        </AccordionContent>
      </AccordionItem>
    </AccordionRoot>
  );
};

export default Accordion;

Customization

1. Allowing closing content when clicking trigger for an open item (Recommended)

By default, collapsible prop is set to false so when an item is opened, it cannot be close. To override this behavior, set the collapsible prop to true.

const Accordion = () => {
  return (
    <AccordionRoot type="single" collapsible>
      {/*Contents*/}
    </AccordionRoot>
  );
};

export default Accordion;

2. Opening multiple items at the same time

It is possible to open multiple accordion item at the same time by modifying the type prop of the AccordionRoot.

const Accordion = () => {
  return (
    <AccordionRoot type="multiple" collapsible>
      {/*Contents*/}
    </AccordionRoot>
  );
};

export default Accordion;

3. Split Accordion items

To seperate each item in the accordion, set the splitted prop to true.

const Accordion = () => {
  return (
    <AccordionRoot type="multiple" splitted collapsible>
      {/*Contents*/}
    </AccordionRoot>
  );
};

export default Accordion;

4. Adding border

To add border arround the accordion, set bordered prop to true.

const Accordion = () => {
  return (
    <AccordionRoot type="multiple" bordered collapsible>
      {/*Contents*/}
    </AccordionRoot>
  );
};

export default Accordion;

5. Using built-in UI design

There are three built-in UI design available for accordion: brutal, glassmorphic, and neumorphic. To use the built-in design, set the ui prop to "brutal", "glassmorphic", or "neumorphic".

const Accordion = () => {
  return (
    <AccordionRoot type="multiple" ui="brutal" collapsible>
      {/*Contents*/}
    </AccordionRoot>
  );
};

export default Accordion;

6. Using custom styles

Still-UI is built on top of TailwindCSS so anyone can freely modify the styles to match on your brand. This is done by using the className prop.

const Accordion = () => {
  return (
    <AccordionRoot type="multiple" ui="brutal" className="gap-4" collapsible>
      {/*Contents*/}
    </AccordionRoot>
  );
};

export default Accordion;
