Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Node-RED nodes for Straton Data-Server

This package node-red-contrib-straton contains nodes to easily connect to a Straton runtime data-server from Straton Automation.

Using these nodes, you can connect to a Straton runtime data-server to read and write application and system variables.

Installation

Install using the managed palette from inside Node-RED.

In Node-RED (preferred)

  • Via Manage Palette -> Search for node-red-contrib-straton

In a shell

  • go to the Node-RED user data directory, e.g.: ~/.node-red
  • run npm install node-red-contrib-straton --save

Usage - Quick Overview

- Straton Read

Connects to a WebSocket and subscribes to one or several straton variables.

- Straton Write

Connects to a WebSocket and writes value of a straton variable. Each time a message is coming in, the configured variable will be written

- Straton Websocket

Connects to a WebSocket and subscribes to one or several straton variables. Additionally, it can send other commands when a message is coming in.

There will be an output for each subscribed variable. Each time the value of a variable is changed, a message with value will be sent on the corresponding output.

An additional output will send message with the result of the command sent

- Straton Command

Sends a data-server command to its output when receive a message. This node should be used in conjunction with Straton Websocket.
