Shared Cursor agent skills for Stryder-Works.

This package is the source of truth for the Stryder overlay skills listed below. App repos copy a skill folder into .cursor/skills/<id>/.

This package consumes @stryder-works/coding-standards as a devDependency for ESLint, lint:drift, and testing principles. After pnpm install, read testing principles at node_modules/@stryder-works/coding-standards/docs/agents/testing-principles.md. Do not copy that file into this repo.

Install

This package is public. Install the published package.

pnpm:

pnpm add -D @stryder-works/agent-skills

npm:

npm install --save-dev @stryder-works/agent-skills

Pin a published version when you need a freeze. Do not install this package from a git URL.

Sync

Cursor loads skills from .cursor/skills/<id>/ in the consuming repo.

Copy each overlay you need:

cp -R node_modules/@stryder-works/agent-skills/skills/issue-integration \
  .cursor/skills/issue-integration

Repeat for setup-stryder-works-skills, stryder-works-repo-setup, and box-github-gh-with-app as needed.

From a clone of this repo (no node_modules):

cp -R skills/issue-integration /path/to/app/.cursor/skills/issue-integration

After you change a skill here, copy it again into each consumer. Edit the canonical file in this package first.

Dogfood (this repo)

This repo is the package source, not a consumer. Cursor still only lists skills from .cursor/skills/<id>/.

Dogfood by copying from in-repo skills/<id>/ into .cursor/skills/<id>/. Package skills/ stays the source of truth. After you change a skill here, refresh the copies:

cp -R skills/issue-integration .cursor/skills/issue-integration

Repeat for setup-stryder-works-skills, stryder-works-repo-setup, and box-github-gh-with-app.

Do not install published @stryder-works/agent-skills into this repo to make Cursor list the overlays.

Land branch is release. Done-label is stage:awaiting-release. Keep the issue open.

Templates for consumers ship under docs/agents/*.template.md. Copy them into the consumer repo. Fill the Defaults table. You have a standing grant to override any default. Record each override in that table.

Default tracker path: docs/agents/issue-tracker.md. Default labels path: docs/agents/triage-labels.md. Put a different path in the template Defaults table Override column. Keep the templates.

Matt skills vs vendor policy

Install Matt Pocock skills with:

npx skills@latest add mattpocock/skills {SKILL_NAMES}

Do not copy Matt skill bodies into this package.

Vendor only Stryder overlays here. Read docs/matt-pocock-inventory.md for the favorite list and the stay-out list.

Run setup-stryder-works-skills in the consumer. Do not run setup-matt-pocock-skills for org defaults. That overlay writes GitHub Issues plus org stage:* vocabulary. It does not write Matt triage label strings unless the owner lists them under Override in the consumer tracker templates.

GitHub access

Prefer the local gh helpers in this package:

• skills/stryder-works-repo-setup/scripts/gh-app-token.sh
• skills/stryder-works-repo-setup/scripts/setup-github-app.sh

Use GitHub MCP as fallback. Never print a token.

When the local App helper is installed in a consumer, read skills/box-github-gh-with-app/SKILL.md.

Local check

pnpm install

pnpm test

test runs check:skills, check:changelog, and scripts/*.test.mjs. check:skills checks YAML frontmatter on each skills/*/SKILL.md.
