Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

yard

CI npm license

yard is a lightweight CLI for managing development stacks for AI-assisted projects. Each project, branch, or worktree can run its own named stack without manually tracking child processes.

Status: yard is under active development. The current release manages local development processes; remote environments, routing, and preview URLs are planned.

Requirements

  • Node.js 24 or newer
  • Linux or macOS is recommended for process-group management

Installation

npm install --global @stupremee/yard

The package installs the yard command.

Quick start

From a project with a dev or dev:* package script:

yard init
yard dev

yard init discovers development scripts and writes a yard.json file or a yard field in package.json. yard dev starts the configured tasks and replaces an existing stack with the same name.

Commands

| Command | Description | | ------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- | | yard init | Discover development scripts and create yard configuration | | yard dev | Start the current project's development stack | | yard dev --name <name> | Start or replace a specifically named stack | | yard stop | Stop the current project's stack | | yard stop --name <name> | Stop a specifically named stack | | yard status | List running stacks and their child processes | | yard --help | Show all commands and options |

For non-interactive setup, use yard init --yes. Repeat --script to select specific scripts:

yard init --script dev:web --script dev:api --target yard

Configuration

Create yard.json in the project root:

{
  "name": "my-app",
  "dev": {
    "web": "vp run dev:web",
    "api": "vp run dev:api"
  }
}

A single command can be provided as a string:

{
  "dev": "vp run dev"
}

Alternatively, put the same object under the yard key in package.json. A yard.json file takes precedence when both are present. Without explicit configuration, yard uses the package's dev script.

Development

This repository uses Vite+ for its toolchain.

vp install
vp run setup
vp check
vp run typecheck
vp run test
vp run build:bundle

See CONTRIBUTING.md for contribution and commit conventions. Maintainers can find the npm bootstrap and OIDC process in docs/releasing.md.
