Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Stytch React Native SDK

npm (consumer) npm (b2b) License: MIT React Native

Headless authentication SDK for React Native, built on a shared Kotlin Multiplatform core. Bring your own UI — Stytch handles the auth.

Requirements

Consumer vs. B2B: What's Right for You?

| | Consumer SDK | B2B SDK | |---|---|---| | Use case | B2C apps — end users authenticate directly | B2B SaaS — members authenticate within Organizations | | Auth methods | OTP, magic links, passwords, OAuth, passkeys, TOTP, crypto wallets | OTP, magic links, passwords, OAuth, SSO (SAML/OIDC), TOTP | | Additional features | Session + user management, DFP | Organizations, members, RBAC, SCIM, discovery flows, recovery codes | | Package | @stytch/react-native-consumer | @stytch/react-native-b2b |

If you're building a consumer-facing app, you want the Consumer SDK. If you're building a B2B SaaS product where your customers belong to organizations, you want the B2B SDK. For a deeper comparison, see the docs.

Installation

Consumer

npm install @stytch/react-native-consumer
# or
yarn add @stytch/react-native-consumer

B2B

npm install @stytch/react-native-b2b
# or
yarn add @stytch/react-native-b2b

Native code setup

If you are using bare React Native, ensure you run pod install from your iOS directory. If you are using Expo, you must add the two following configurations to your app config:

{
    "expo": {
        "plugins": [
            [
                "expo-build-properties",
                {
                    "android": {
                        "packagingOptions": {
                            "exclude": ["META-INF/versions/9/OSGI-INF/MANIFEST.MF"],
                        },
                    },
                    "ios": {
                        "useFrameworks": "static",
                    }
                },
            ]
        ]
    }
}

Quick Start

The examples below use the Consumer SDK with an SMS OTP login flow. The B2B SDK follows the same pattern — swap in @stytch/react-native-b2b and use the equivalent B2B endpoints.

1. Initialize the client and wrap your app

import {
    createStytchConsumer,
    StytchClientConfiguration,
    StytchProvider,
} from '@stytch/react-native-consumer';

const stytch = createStytchConsumer(
    new StytchClientConfiguration("public-token-live-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx")
);

export default function App() {
    return (
        <StytchProvider stytch={stytch}>
            <YourNavigator />
        </StytchProvider>
    );
}

2. Access the client and state in components

import { useStytch, useStytchUser, useStytchSession } from '@stytch/react-native-consumer';

function ProfileHeader() {
    const user = useStytchUser();
    const session = useStytchSession();
    return (
        <Text>{user ? `Logged in as ${user.emails[0]?.email}` : 'Not logged in'}</Text>
    );
}

3. Send and verify an SMS OTP

import { useStytch } from '@stytch/react-native-consumer';

function SmsOtpScreen() {
    const stytch = useStytch();
    const [methodId, setMethodId] = useState<string | null>(null);

    const sendOtp = async (phoneNumber: string) => {
        const response = await stytch.otp.sms.loginOrCreate({ phoneNumber });
        setMethodId(response.methodId);
    };

    const verifyOtp = async (code: string) => {
        await stytch.otp.authenticate({
            token: code,
            methodId: methodId!,
            sessionDurationMinutes: 30,
        });
    };

    // ...
}
