Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Svelte lifecycle binding for SupaCloud command scopes

Readme

@supacloud/app-svelte

Svelte 5 lifecycle binding for @supacloud/contracts. No Angular dependency.

For generated procedure queries and mutations, use the framework-neutral @supacloud/js/query options with @tanstack/svelte-query. This package continues to own component/target/navigation lifetime only. Pass an attempt's signal through the mutation's execution.signal; do not create a second cache, session store or Svelte-specific procedure engine.

<script lang="ts">
  import { createSvelteCommandScope } from "@supacloud/app-svelte";

  // Call during component initialization, not in an event handler or after await.
  const scope = createSvelteCommandScope();
  let state = $state("idle");

  async function readReceipt(operationId: string) {
    const attempt = scope.begin(operationId);
    const response = await fetch(`/receipts/${encodeURIComponent(operationId)}`, {
      signal: attempt.signal,
    });
    if (!response.ok) return;
    // Decode and match the real receipt before treating the operation as confirmed.
    attempt.commit(() => { state = "receipt-available"; });
  }
</script>

Unmounting aborts the attempt and prevents late commits. It deliberately does not remove persistent locks, since cancellation cannot establish whether a write committed. Pass attempt.isCurrent to locks.release(target, operationId, ...); never release in an unconditional finally or an onDestroy callback.

Restored locks can be resolved using the server command's lookupByReference. Storage and Web Locks access must occur in the browser (for example in onMount), not during SvelteKit server rendering.

For reused components, pass target: Readable<string> containing tenant, actor and resource identity. Changes invalidate old attempts even before another operation starts. onNavigate(invalidate) binds a host router hook and can return an unsubscribe function. Both bindings are cleaned up at destruction. With SvelteKit, pass onNavigate: (invalidate) => beforeNavigate(() => invalidate()); toStore(() => JSON.stringify([tenantId, actorId, page.params.id])) adapts page state. Registration belongs in component initialization. A cancelled navigation still invalidates conservatively. Without these bindings, call scope.invalidate() explicitly when the operation's target or authorization context changes.

Acceptance

bun run typecheck
bun run typecheck:test
bun test
bun run build
bun run test:browser

Open the printed localhost URL. #result must report ok: true. The harness mounts and unmounts real Svelte components, delays the old request completion, restores the persistent lock, and checks both stale-release prevention and exclusive acquisition using native localStorage and Web Locks. It also switches targets without unmounting and verifies navigation invalidation and cleanup. It tests the router-hook contract, not a complete SvelteKit router or customer auth flow.

The harness is test-only; it is not an application UI or a production endpoint. See migration and recovery.
