Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

A framework for Svelte Utilities

Readme

sveltelegos-blue

A fork of ankurrsinghal/svelte-legos, hopefully with more consistent releases and maintenance.

Collection of essential Svelte Composition Utilities

🚀 Features

  • 🎪 Interactive docs & demos
  • Fully tree shakeable: Only take what you want, [bundle size]
  • 🦾 Type Strong: Written in TypeScript, with TS Docs
  • 🔋 SSR Friendly
  • 🌎 No bundler required: Usable via CDN
  • 🔩 Flexible: Configurable event filters and targets

🦄 Usage

<script lang="ts">
    import { loadingAction } from "@sveltelegos-blue/svelte-legos";

    let loading = $state(false);

    handleClick = () => {
        setTimeout(() => {loading = false}, 5000);
        loading = true;
    }
</script>

<button use:loadingAction={loading} onclick={handleClick}>Click me and I'll start loading!</button>
<script lang="ts">
    import { clickOutsideAction } from "@sveltelegos-blue/svelte-legos";

    let hidden = false;

    function handleClickOutside() {
        hidden = !hidden;
    }
</script>

<div class="modal" use:clickOutsideAction onclickoutside={handleClickOutside} />

Refer to functions list or documentations for more details.

UPCOMING DEPRECATION NOTICE!

Since Svelte 5 and its runes have made stores more and more obsolete, it's time to start removing them from this library. For many things, there's no point in specifically using a store when a $state() or $derived() would work better.

As such, starting soon, I will be phasing out various legos in stores, getting rid of or rewriting as many as possible.

Yes, this is a breaking change.

📦 Install

npm i @sveltelegos-blue/svelte-legos

A note about version numbers

Semantic Versioning is a bit silly.

I very likely will not be bumping this to a major version for quite a while. Given that, assume that minor versions (0.x.y) can include entirely breaking changes. They very likely won't, but, don't get comfortable.

Patch versions (0.x.y) will never break things. In fact, they'll usually fix things.

Local setup

npm run dev

Current Todos/Projects

  • [ ] Actual dark mode design, not just haphazard application of colours where they look good.
  • [ ] Styles consolidation (ie. actual themes)

Contributions to these lofty goals are welcome.

🌸 Thanks

This project is heavily inspired by the following awesome projects.
