Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

The UI framework for AI coding agents, on Svelte 5: one typed vocabulary, docs generated from the types, and errors that say how to fix them.

Sveltier

The UI framework for AI coding agents, on Svelte 5.

Coding agents do not remember your library, cannot see the screen, and learn by running and fixing. Sveltier is designed around all three, and the same choices help every developer.

  • Finds the right information. Props tables, llms.txt and llms-full.txt are generated from the TypeScript types, and the typed sources ship in this package. An agent reads the API of the version it installed, not a guess from its training data.
  • Gets it right the first time. variant, size, density, color and rounded mean the same thing on every component, as literal types: a value that does not exist is a type error that lists the ones that do.
  • Fixes itself when wrong. Every error has a stable code, says what happened and what to do, and links to its entry in the docs. Development builds also warn about mistakes that types cannot catch.
  • Accessible without being asked. Roles, focus and keys follow the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices, tested in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.

Alpha. The API may still change between releases.

Install

npm install @sveltier/ui

Svelte 5.40 or later is required.

Set up

Wrap the app in UIProvider with a theme pack, then use the components anywhere inside it.

<!-- src/routes/+layout.svelte -->
<script>
	import { UIProvider } from '@sveltier/ui';
	import { monolith } from '@sveltier/ui/themes/monolith';
	let { children } = $props();
</script>

<!-- Monolith, light or dark following the OS -->
<UIProvider themes={monolith}>
	{@render children()}
</UIProvider>
<script>
	import { Button, TextField } from '@sveltier/ui';
	let email = $state('');
</script>

<TextField label="Email" type="email" required bind:value={email} />
<Button variant="tonal">Save</Button>

Fonts are not bundled: each theme names its families and falls back to system fonts. See Fonts.

What is inside

  • Layout: AppLayout with AppBar, NavigationDrawer and Main, the frame of an app that the server renders as it stays; Container, Row and Col, a twelve-column grid.
  • Components: Accordion, Alert, Avatar, Badge, Breadcrumbs, Button, ButtonGroup, Card, Chip, Divider, Icon, List, Pagination, ProgressCircular, ProgressLinear, SegmentedControl, Skeleton, Tabs.
  • Forms: Form, Field, TextField, Textarea, NumberField, NativeSelect, Checkbox, Switch, RadioGroup and Slider, validated by the HTML constraints first, then your rules.
  • Overlays: Dialog, Sheet, Popover, Menu and Tooltip in the browser's top layer, and toasts with an undo action from useToast().
  • Primitives for your own components: focus trap, roving focus, dismissable layers, portal, inert background and scroll lock, anchored positioning, keyboard maps and typeahead, motion, virtual lists.
  • Theme engine: five built-in theme packs (Monolith, Heritage, Aurora, Maison and Milano), each in light and dark, with flash-free server rendering. Define your own with defineTheme.
  • Zero runtime dependencies, and a gzip size budget on every entry.
