Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@svton/agent-app

Out-of-the-box AI agent application. One component, full chat capability, zero configuration.

Install

npm install @svton/agent-app reflect-metadata
# or
pnpm add @svton/agent-app reflect-metadata

Quick Start

import 'reflect-metadata';
import { AgentApp } from '@svton/agent-app';

export default function App() {
  return (
    <AgentApp
      providers={[{
        type: 'openai',
        apiKey: process.env.OPENAI_API_KEY!,
        models: [
          { id: 'gpt-4o', name: 'GPT-4o' },
          { id: 'gpt-4o-mini', name: 'GPT-4o Mini' },
        ],
      }]}
    />
  );
}

That's it. You get a full AI agent with:

  • Streaming chat with tool use
  • Multi-model switching
  • Permission modes (read-only / default / accept-edits / auto)
  • Reasoning effort control (low / medium / high / xhigh)
  • Image generation
  • Code review (/review)
  • Document preview (split-screen)
  • HTTP/SSE MCP servers
  • Slack / Linear integrations
  • Skill URL / marketplace installation
  • Session management (create / switch / delete)
  • Memory system
  • Planning system
  • Settings page (provider config, tool toggles, skills)
  • localStorage persistence

Multi-Provider

<AgentApp
  providers={[
    {
      type: 'openai',
      apiKey: 'sk-...',
      models: [{ id: 'gpt-4o', name: 'GPT-4o' }],
    },
    {
      type: 'anthropic',
      apiKey: 'sk-ant-...',
      models: [
        { id: 'claude-sonnet-4-20250514', name: 'Claude Sonnet 4' },
        { id: 'claude-haiku-4-20250506', name: 'Claude Haiku 4' },
      ],
    },
  ]}
  defaultModel="gpt-4o"
/>

Props

| Prop | Type | Required | Description | |------|------|----------|-------------| | providers | ProviderConfig[] | Yes | LLM provider configs | | defaultModel | string | No | Initial model ID or providerId::modelId | | systemPrompt | string | No | Extra system prompt | | searchEndpoint | string | No | Web search API endpoint | | features | FeatureFlags | No | Toggle individual features | | skills | SkillDefinition[] | No | Custom skills | | mcpServers | McpServerEntry[] | No | MCP server configs (HTTP/SSE) | | imageProviders | object | No | Stability / Google Imagen API keys | | settings | object | No | Provider settings persistence mode and secret storage policy | | storage | object | No | Browser storage namespace, useful for multi-instance embedding | | integrations | object | No | Built-in/custom integration manifests | | marketplace | object | No | Skill/MCP marketplace behavior | | runtime | object | No | Runtime recreation key for host-controlled config changes | | title | string | No | App title (default: "Svton Agent") | | maxIterations | number | No | ReAct loop limit (default: 50) | | contextConfig | object | No | Context window config |

Feature Flags

<AgentApp
  providers={[...]}
  features={{
    webFetch: true,
    memory: true,
    planning: true,
    imageGeneration: false, // disable image gen
    codeReview: true, // enable code review
    documentPreview: true,
    csvFanout: true,
    webSearch: false,
    sessionResume: true,
    agentDefinitions: true,
    plugins: true,
    integrations: true,
  }}
/>

Settings Persistence

<AgentApp
  providers={[...]}
  settings={{
    mode: 'merge', // persisted | controlled | merge
    persistProviderSecrets: true, // persist API keys saved in Settings
    persistInitialProviderSecrets: false,
  }}
/>

By default, AgentApp merges props with saved settings, persists keys entered in Settings, and does not seed API keys from the initial providers prop into localStorage.

Embedding Isolation

<AgentApp
  providers={[...]}
  storage={{ namespace: 'my-product-agent' }}
  runtime={{ key: projectId }}
  integrations={{
    builtin: ['slack'],
    manifests: [customIntegration],
  }}
  marketplace={{
    skills: false,
    mcp: false,
  }}
/>

storage.namespace isolates localStorage and IndexedDB data. Model selections are stored as providerId::modelId internally, so multiple providers can safely expose the same model ID.
