Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Shared React Native component library for the Synotech ecosystem

Readme

@synotech/components-native

Shared React Native component library for the Synotech ecosystem.

Lifted from the Synoptic mobile apps (synoptic-{krugergold,ventry,vya}/mobile) so future projects can install the RN design system as a package instead of copying it.

Install

yarn add @synotech/components-native react-native-paper react-native-svg \
  react-hook-form @gorhom/bottom-sheet react-native-reanimated \
  react-native-gesture-handler react-native-safe-area-context

Requires the peer deps listed in package.json (Expo/RN stack).

Usage

import { Button, Text, View, Card, useTheme, setBrandColors } from '@synotech/components-native'

setBrandColors({ brand_color: '#C2410C', brand_color_accent: '#FDBA74' })

export const Screen = () => {
  const theme = useTheme()
  return (
    <View>
      <Button variant="primary">Pay</Button>
      <Text color="text">Hello</Text>
    </View>
  )
}

Included

  • 50+ components: button, text, Card, view, icon (multi-family: Synotech, Lucide, vector icons), the field-* family (~20 RHF-bound fields), bottomsheet, dialog, modal (incl. amount-pad), snackbar, toast, list, money, form, etc.
  • Theme: ThemeColors semantic tokens + setBrandColors brand injection, Paper font config, useTheme + ColorName/StyleObject resolution
  • Vendored helpers (previously from @wallet/provider / the app)

Opt-in subpaths (not in the root barrel)

Camera capture UI mounts a live expo CameraView (native session, permission-gated) — too heavy to bundle by default, so it lives behind a documented subpath. QR scanning stays in the root barrel (no session).

import { CameraGeneral, CameraSelfie, CameraPreview } from '@synotech/components-native/camera-mode'
  • CameraGeneral — full-screen document/object capture (torch, flip, capture).
  • CameraSelfie — guided selfie capture with face mask + brand watermark slot.
  • CameraPreview — accept/retry review step after a capture.
  • Requires the expo-camera peer. CameraGeneral/CameraSelfie cannot run headless in a simulator (they are excluded from the on-device sweep for that reason); QrScanner + CameraPreview sweep in Maestro flow 12.

Build

yarn install
yarn typecheck
yarn build # dist/ with commonjs + esm + dts
