Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@tabnas/ebnf

EBNF grammar compiler for the Tabnas parser: takes EBNF source in the W3C dialect and emits a tabnas GrammarSpec.

This is a best-effort front-end. It implements one dialect properly and refuses the rest by name — ISO/IEC 14977 subtraction (A - B), special sequences (? … ?) and bracket repetition ({ A } / [ A ]) all raise a named error rather than compiling to something plausible. The itemised list is in doc/reference.md; read it before writing a grammar.

Install

npm install @tabnas/parser @tabnas/bnf @tabnas/ebnf

@tabnas/parser (the engine) and @tabnas/bnf (the shared compiler) are peer dependencies.

Build the instance once and reuse it — compiling the grammar is the expensive part. tn.ebnf.toSpec(src) builds the spec without installing it.
