Build your iOS, tvOS or visionOS app with Xcode and hand the .ipa to the
TakeOff Mac app, which uploads it to TestFlight with
the App Store Connect key you already added there. The CLI never needs a key of
its own.
npm install -g @takeoff-app/cli
takeoff doctorRequires macOS 14 or later, Xcode, and TakeOff with your app opened once.
Build and hand it to TakeOff
In the folder that holds your .xcodeproj or .xcworkspace:
takeoff build # the only scheme, Release, iOS
takeoff build -s MyApp --build-number auto --app com.example.myapp
takeoff build --workspace MyApp.xcworkspace -s MyApp --team ABCDE12345
takeoff build -s MyApp --dry-run # show what would runThen open your app in TakeOff › Builds: the build waits under Ready to upload. Upload to TestFlight sends it to Apple.
Already exported an .ipa?
takeoff add ./MyApp.ipaCommands
| Command | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| takeoff build | Archive and export the app, then put the .ipa into TakeOff |
| takeoff add <ipa> | Put an .ipa you already exported into TakeOff |
| takeoff builds [--json] | List the builds waiting in TakeOff |
| takeoff remove <version> <build> | Remove a waiting build without uploading it |
| takeoff apps | List the apps TakeOff knows on this Mac |
| takeoff doctor | Check Xcode and access to TakeOff's folder |
takeoff <command> --help lists every option.
Notes
- The first time the CLI writes into TakeOff's folder, macOS may ask to let
your terminal access another app's data. Allow it —
takeoff doctorchecks. - The package contains one universal (Apple silicon + Intel) binary. Nothing is downloaded or run at install time.
