About

Attributes accept primitive values, arrays, records, dates, Temporal instants, and errors. Formatting converts them to JSON values, omits undefined object fields, and marks circular references.

Pass caught errors separately from attributes:

logger.error("Payment failed", cause, { operation: "charge" });
logger.fatal("Server stopped", cause, { service: "api" });

error and fatal accept any thrown cause. Non-Error causes use the name ThrownValue and a string message. Error causes preserve primitive values and serialize nested errors.
