Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

TerminalHere for npm

CI License: MIT

Cross-platform file-manager integration for opening a folder in a terminal.

Install

npm install --global @terminalhere/cli
terminalhere install
terminalhere status

Windows adds Explorer entries beneath HKCU\\Software\\Classes without administrator privileges. macOS installs a Finder Quick Action, while Linux installs a Nautilus Script; restart Nautilus after installation if it does not appear immediately.

Commands

terminalhere install | uninstall | status
terminalhere enable <terminal|powershell|cmd|gitbash|vscode>
terminalhere disable <terminal|powershell|cmd|gitbash|vscode>
terminalhere enable-all | disable-all
terminalhere open [directory]

Add --json to status, install, or enable/disable commands for automation.

Security and project rules

  • No administrator privileges are required or requested.
  • The package changes only the current user's supported file-manager integration locations.
  • Report vulnerabilities privately; see SECURITY.md.
  • Contributions follow the fork/PR, branch naming, review, and CI requirements in CONTRIBUTING.md.
  • This repository is public, but no npm package has been published from it.
