Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@th1n/toast

v0.2.0

Published

A React toast component.

Readme

@th1n/toast

A polished, animated toast component for React. It supports stacking, swipe-to-dismiss, automatic dismissal, four variants, and Tailwind CSS styling.

Website · Documentation

Installation

npm install @th1n/toast framer-motion

react, react-dom, and framer-motion are peer dependencies.

Tailwind CSS setup

This package ships Tailwind utility classes. Ensure Tailwind scans the package distribution directory.

For Tailwind CSS v4, add this to your main CSS file:

@import "tailwindcss";
@source "../node_modules/@th1n/toast/dist";

Adjust the relative path if your CSS file is located elsewhere.

Usage

Add ToastProvider once near the root of your application:

import { ToastProvider, toast } from "@th1n/toast";

export function App({ children }: { children: React.ReactNode }) {
  return (
    <ToastProvider position="bottom-right">
      {children}
    </ToastProvider>
  );
}

toast.success("Saved", "Your changes are safe.");
toast.info("New version available");
toast.warning("Your session expires soon");
toast.error("Could not save changes");

Pass an options object to customize an individual toast:

toast.success("Saved", {
  description: "Your changes are safe.",
  duration: 8_000,
  showCategory: false,
  icon: <CustomSuccessIcon />,
});

Set duration: 0 to keep a toast open until it is dismissed.

Provider options

<ToastProvider
  position="top-right"
  maxToasts={4}
  iconStyle="lucide"
  defaultOptions={{ duration: 6_000, grain: true }}
>
  {children}
</ToastProvider>

Available positions: top-left, top-right, bottom-left, and bottom-right.

Built-in icon styles: phosphor (default), lucide, and react-icons. You can also override individual variant icons with the icons provider prop or the icon toast option.

API

toast.success, toast.info, toast.warning, and toast.error accept:

toast.success(title, descriptionOrOptions);

Options include description, duration, className, style, icon, grain, showCategory, and showDescription.
