Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

A Last.fm CLI built with TypeScript and Bun

Readme

TSFM

Your Last.fm, in the terminal

TSFM is a small open-source CLI I built with TypeScript and Bun. It's a fast way to check your music and listening history without opening a browser.

Why I made this

I got tired of opening a Last.fm tab just to see what I'd been listening to. Now I don't. I just run a command.

Install

You'll need Bun or npm on your computer.

With bun:

bun add -g @theoldzoom/tsfm

With npm:

npm install -g @theoldzoom/tsfm

Make sure you use -g (global) so it's installed everywhere, not just one folder.

The package is called @theoldzoom/tsfm, but once it's installed, you just type tsfm to use it.

Getting started

Not sure what to run? Just type tsfm by itself. It'll show you every command and ask which one you want.

First, connect your account:

tsfm setup

Then you're good to go. A few things to try:

tsfm recent # what you've been playing
tsfm top artists # your top artists
tsfm user # your profile

Want JSON instead? Just add --json to most commands:

tsfm recent --json

What it can do

  • See your recent tracks, and what's playing right now
  • Check your top artists, tracks, and albums
  • Look at your listening stats
  • Compare your listening with someone else's
  • Get JSON or CSV output if you want to use it somewhere else
  • Fast, keyboard-only, stays in the terminal

Want the full list, with every flag explained? Check out docs/commands.

Settings

Your config is saved at ~/.config/tsfm.yaml. Run tsfm setup again anytime you want to change something.
