Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

This package contains the definition of the file operations. It uses a interchangeable driver system for performing the actual operations. An in-memory driver is included.

Installation

npm install @theshelf/filestore

How to use

The basic set up looks like this.

import FileStore, { MemoryDriver } from '@theshelf/fileStore';

const driver = new MemoryDriver();
const fileStore = new FileStore(driver);

// Perform operations with the fileStore instance

Operations

// Open connection
await fileStore.connect();

// Close connection
await fileStore.disconnect();

// Check if a file exists
const exists: boolean = await fileStore.hasFile('path/to/file.txt');

// Write a file to the storage
const data: Buffer = Buffer.from('Something interesting');
await fileStore.writeFile('path/to/file.txt', data);

// Read a file from storage
// Throws FileNotFound if not found
const data: Buffer = await fileStore.readFile('path/to/file.txt');

// Delete a file from storage
// Throws FileNotFound if not found
await fileStore.deleteFile('path/to/file.txt');

Drivers

There is one driver included in this package. Other drivers are available in separate packages.

Memory

In-memory file store (suited for testing). It doesn't have any configuration options, but has an additional operation.
